Diet Pepsi Max-"What Is Love?" This used the song "What Is Love" to show people dozing off. They finally get some Diet Pepsi Max and start the head bobbing from the movie. "A Night at the Roxbury." At the end, actor Chris Kattan, who played Doug Butabi in the movie walks out and says "Stop It."

GREAT SONG AND ACTION. I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE ASSEMBY LINE OF BOBBLE HEAD DOLLS.

Two commercial were broadcast with 10:47 left in the first quarter.

Number 1: Bud Lite-The Ability to Breath Fire

I posted a clip of this commercial earlier this past. A man is sitting at a formal dining table and he lights the candles with his breath. He then jumps up and asked his beautiful date if she has a cat. He begins sneezing and lights everything on fire, including the cat and his date. VERY FUNNY

Number 2: Audi

This commercial started like the horse head scene from “The Godfather.” A man waked up in his bed, and is covered in oil. He throws back the covers and finds the grill of his Mercedes Benz. He begins screaming. The next shot is an Audi G8 sitting outside his house. It speeds off and the screen says, “The Old Luxury just got put on notice. GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT THE CONNECTION.

Super Bowl XLII Pre Game Activities

Jordin Sparks, winner of American Idol 6 snag the National Anthem before the coin toss of Super Bowl XLII. She is also he daughter of former New York Giants football player Phillippi Sparks.

Her rendition of the National Anthem was less than I expected. I do not care if she did win American Idol 6. She tried to use our National Anthem to showcase her vocal range and ability. She gets a D in my book for her performance. It should be against the law to sing the anthem of our country in any way other than a tradition performance. Singing up and down the octave is disrespectful.

On a positive note, as the panned each team’s sideline during the anthem, the camera picked up many of the players during the anthem. A few stood there, and some were in the traditional football stance of placing a hand on the teammates shoulder to the right.

However, the camera caught New England patriot quarterback Tom Brady with his hand over his heart as he sang along with the National Anthem. In my humble opinion, he is tops in my book. He was showing his love and respect for the United States. If that is all I saw of him during the game, that would be enough for me to judge him as a person in a positive light.

Tom Brady…You are tops in my book and a true American.

A few ad details gleaned from newspaper accounts and assorted press releases have filtered out and are as follows:

The SoBe Life Water spot will feature supermodel Naomi Campbell and, apparently, a group of unclad reptiles.

NFL Network's "Bold Predictions" continues last year's theme of preseason predictions gone awry, as in a fan saying of Giants quarterback Eli Manning, "The closest Eli comes to a Super Bowl ring is when he gives Peyton a manicure."

Under Armour's 60-second spot for a new line of shoes will feature more than 25 athletes, including softball pitcher and Olympic gold medalist Cat Osterman of Houston.

Sunsilk, a hair care brand from Unilever, will feature Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe in its spot.

The Wall Street Journal reports that PepsiCo's plans include a 60-second music video featuring a song selected by fans. Finalists include Kina Grannis, Landon Austin and Nivia. The winner's song will be released as a single by A&M.

Also from the WSJ: One of Coca-Cola's ads features a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloon fight involving Underdog, Stewie (from Family Guy) and Charlie Brown balloons. Another features former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and political consultant James Carville.

The Associated Press says one of PepsiCo's ads will feature a 60-second visual without sound in which two deaf people are driving to a friend's house at night but are unsure of the location until they honk their car horn repeatedly. That enables them to determine that the only house that remains dark is that of their friend. The spot has gotten a thumb's up from the National Association of the Deaf, the AP reported. Another PepsiCo ad will feature singer Justin Timberlake, the Wall Street Journal says.

Planters will use its ad to launch a new line of snack foods, and Dell will announce a partnership a company that donates a portion of sales proceeds to treat AIDS patients in Africa, according to Brandweek.

Taco Bell's ad will launch a new Fiesta Platters meal, the company says.

The AP says that one of Bridgestone's three ads will feature a car about to run over Richard Simmons and that Audi's ad will have Godfather theme.

Criminal Aleins Flee Arizona, Oklahoma; Head for Texas

The Houston Chronicle had an article on February 3, 2008 concerning the recent influx of criminal aliens into Texas because of the clampdown on illegal immigration and their enables in Arizona and Oklahoma.

New laws recently went into effect in those two states and the criminal aliens are finding to too tough to stay there. So where do they head? TEXAS.

The laws that are causing these mass-migrations are as follows:

• Oklahoma: The statute, which took effect in November, makes it a crime to transport, harbor or employ illegal immigrants.

• Arizona: Effective Jan. 1, 2008, the law suspends the business license of employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers. On a second offense, the license is revoked.

If we (Texas and USA) followed the same policies, the criminal aliens would leave. Their benefits would be dried up and they would scurry away like the vermin they are.

The bleeding-heart liberals want to flood this country with more and more people who will support their causes and ensure their continued control of our society.

What is despicable is that they will go to any lengths to achieve their goals. They support these criminals (illegal aliens) but would not want them living in their neighborhoods, coming into their homes, dating their sons and/or daughters, or becoming in any way, shape, or form, friends with these people.

They want to use them to gain their support. They are playing the criminal aliens as fools. The funny thing is that the criminal aliens are too caught up in their own criminal activities to realize they are being used by the very people who claim to support them.

Field of Dreams-A GREAT Sports Movie

As everyone who read this blog knows, Texas Truth loves movies. There is nothing better than watching a movie and escaping to anotehr time and another place.

The best types of movies, in my humble opinion, are sports and war movies. I absolutely love both. What red-blooded American man does not?

I was sitting in my favorite recliner this evening, surfing the channels and I came across one of my favorites, Field of Dreams.

Yes, I know it is a corny movie, but I LOVE it. It brings back so many memories of my childhood following baseball. You see, mu favorite team was the Pittsburg Pirates. I lived and died with the Pirates. I have the chance see them for the first time live as a sophomore in high school. I was on the high school band trip to Houston and we got to go to the Astrodome to see the Houston Astros play the Pirates.

Long before that, I loved baseball but after that, my love for baseball grew with every moment. I never was a good player. I played Little League as a youth but never was any good.

As I got older, I enjoyed the game more and more, and after a while, my interests went in other directions.

Recently, I have made complete circle and renewed my love of the game. As a teenager and young adult, I remember my father talking about baseball. I found out he played at the minor league level when he was younger. I know he never made it to the Bigs, but I remember to this day when I found out my father was, for a short time, a professional baseball player, made me wonder what else there was about my father I never knew.

I guess that is why I love the movie Field of Dreams so much. It is so much about America and family. It is so much about what makes this country that I love so much as great as it is.

There are two parts of the movie that really stand out in my mind. The first part is them Terrance Mann, played by James Earl Jones does the soliloquy about baseball. I have posted it below.Please read it and think about what it means to you.

Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack.

And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

No one else could have delivered this speech as Jones did. It was perfect. It really sums up what the country is all about. I will post more on this later.

The second part is when Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Kinsella, sees his father on their field and begins to talk to him. His reaction when he realizes that the catcher is his father is priceless,

At the end of the scene, there is a brief two-line part of the movie. It goes as follows:

Ray Kinsella: [choked up] "You wanna have a catch?"
John Kinsella: "I'd like that."

I do as many men all over America do when they see that part. I cry. Yes, I admit it, I cry like a baby.

One cannot be a red-blooded American man and not be chocked up by that part. Every time it comes on, I watch it, knowing that it is going to chock me up. I cannot help it. I guess it is like therapy.

In any case, Field of Dreams is one of my top 10 favorite sports movies. I bet it is one of your favorites too.

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl. For 42 years the NFL has held the Super Bowl to determine the champion of the NFL.

The best part of the Super Bowl is the commercials. Companies spend millions of dollars to advertise their wares during the Super Bowl.

I will be live blogging during the Super Bowl to provide coverage of the commercials. In the past, some are good, some are bad, and some are great.

Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses

Texas Truth LOVES good movies and good songs. With all the CRAP going on in the world, good honest people need to make a stand. I cannot think of a better song and video to emphasize the action we need to take.

Toby Keith sings the song "Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses" and produced a video for it. Some of the words in the song speak volumes of what we need to do in this country and the world. Read those words below and see if your do not agree.

Houston Police Chief Refuses To Train Officers To Enforce Immigration Laws

In a story from the Houston Chronicle Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt made it clear Thursday that his department will be taking on ICE duties any time soon. Hurtt said enforcing immigration law in Houston would tie up officers and add long delays to police response times.

I am amazed of the total disreguard that Hurtt has for the law in allowing criminals to roam the streets of Houston. He states that if his officers enforce immigration laws, it would not allow his officers to enforce local laws.

If HPD enforced immigration laws, local crime WOULD decrease. Criminal aliens DO commit local crimes. If you look at his decision, it is clear, at least to me, what he is doing.

He is promoting a liberal agenda. He is pandering the the Hispanic population. He has only been employed in two other police forces in his career (Phoenix, Arizona and Oxnard, California), both cities of which have predominately Hispnaic populations.

Coud he be looking at a possible political run in the future? It would not surprise me. He stands up for criminal aliens, which in the three cities he has worked are Hispanic, and he gains their votes.

That is a typical liberal viewpoint. I would be willing to bet he supports either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton for President.

Add that to the fact that his family does not even live in Hosuton. They still reside in Phoenix. That fact alone shows his lack of loyality to Houston.

Hurtt stated "officers dont want to enforce immigration." I wonder who was he talking about? I am willing to bet that many HPD officers want to arerst criminal aleins.

This guy needs to enforce all laws or get out of the job.

Texas Governor Rick Perry today endorsed U.S. Senator John McCain for the Republican presidential nomination, a day after the governor's first favorite candidate, Rudy Giuliani, dropped out of the race.

Giuliani Drops Out of Race; Throws Support to McCain

"Today I am officially announcing my withdrawal as a candidate for President of the United States.”

With those words, Rudy Giuliani formally ended his presidential bid Wednesday afternoon, having flown clear across the country so he could share a lectern at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and throw his support behind John McCain.

The announcement was timed for maximum exposure: hundreds of reporters and photographers had gathered here to cover the suddenly-shrinking debate.

I predicted this last night. I guess I got lucky.

PREDICTION: Giuliani Will Drop Out of Race on Wednesday

I think, after hearing Rudy Giuliani speak tonight, he will drop out of the race sometime tomorrow (Wednesday) and throw his support behind John McCain.

That could be a very smart move. It might set him up as a possible Vice-Presidential candidate if McCain gets the Republican nomination for President.

Giuliani Still in the Race (For Now)

UPDATED NEWS FLASH

Rudy Giuliani has not dropped out of the Presidential race as of 8:31pm CST this evening. If he does drop out, it could come later this evening or tomorrow.

He is speaking live in Orlando, Florida and praised his fellow Republican candidates for their campaigns, including Ron Paul.

He received 15% of the vote in the Florida primary.

I think he will still be a factor in this election, no matter whether he stays in the race or not. The question is, if he drops out is, "Who will he back and throw his support behind?"

Rumors are circulating that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani may be dropping out of the Presidental race as early as tonight or tomorrow.

This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. I will keep listening and post updates as the become available.

State of the Union Address 2008

President George W. Bush give what could be his final State of the Union address tonight. I say "could be" because, if he desires, could give another prior to leaving office on January 20, 2009.

I will be watching and will post my thoughts at a later time.

Super Bowl 42 Possible Budweiser Commercial Clips

I felt like posting something light today. I am so burnt out watching the news channels and the constant bickering among the talking heads. So I though I might go in a different direction with today's post.

As Super Bowl 42 approaches, I look forward to the commercials. I watch the game, but do not get caught up in it like most of the people I know. Don't get my wrong, I LOVE sports. What red blooded American male doesn't. But the Super Bowl has turned into a week long party, with endless hours of broadcasts about anything related to everything football. After a while, it becomes too much.

But I watch the game to watch the commercials. They are some of the best of the year. Texas Truth has found a video with five shorts clips of possible Budweiser commercials that may be aired during the Super Bowl. You can view them below.

Mexican Kidnapping Scam Finds Its Way To Houston

The Houston Chronicle has posted a story about fake kidnapping that occurs quite frequently in Mexico has found its way to Houston.

Kidnapping scams, such as people staging their own abductions, are common in Mexico and authorities say they now appear to be popping up in Houston.

Such kidnapping are so common in Mexico that there is a term for them, autosecuestro, which basically translates as "self-kidnapping."

These people, illegal or otherwise, don't want to become Americans. They don't want to obey our laws, learn English or salute and defend our flag like the immigrants did from Europe. All they want to do is "Bleed" the American taxpayer and the American economy and infrastructure and send OUR dollars back into Mexico.

In addition, they want to bring their low life culture to our country and prey on their own. People who do this to their own families are lower than scum (whatever that is).

This is what happens when you invite 10-20 million illegals into your country. The culture of their corrupt country follows them wherever they go.

It does not matter if any of the people who perpetrate these crimes are legally the the United States or not. The fact is the country has enough home grown human trash. We do not need to import more.

Talk Radio Hosts Undecided as to Presidential Candidates

Newsmax.com has a story about the major conservative radio talk show hosts have not decided whom to support in the upcoming Presidential race. You can read it by clicking here.

Rush Limbaugh stated this past Monday, "I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life. You don’t have a genuine down-the-list conservative” among the GOP candidates.

Michael Savage says he has not endorsed any candidate "at this time."

Mike Gallagher says, "I definitely dislike Huckabee. He is very much a fiscal liberal, wrong on illegal immigration, and he loves big government." But Gallagher, again, doesn't have one candidate he's backing.

I also have not decided whom to back. As I have repeatedly stated, none of them are the true Conservative like Ronald Reagan was. They all have liberal leanings. Some are merely RINOs and are no different that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or John Edwards.

One think I do know is that I WILL vote for the lesser of two evils. Even a RINO is better in the White House than any of those three Democrats that are running.

Bono meets Pentagon chief to discuss poverty

It has been reported by Reuters that U2 lead singer Bono visited the Pentagon today to discuss Africa and the fight against global poverty with U.S. Defence Secretary Robert Gates.

My question is WHY?

This guy is a singer...a performer...a celebrity. What does he know about global poverty and Africa?

I cannot ever understand why celebrities think they are experts in areas in which they have no education and training.

If he is so worried about global poverty, why is he not spend his own money to help the problem.

This is ridiculous.

Bono: You need to stick to singing . I guess I will have to add him to my "Dancing Monkey Syndrome" List.

Reasons Clemens Might Be Injected With B-12 and Lidocaine

The Boston Globe has a story raising questions about legitimate medical reasons for the treatments that Clemens claims?

Clemens claimed to have been injected with Lidocaine and vitamin B-12. Dr. George Blackburn, director of the Center for the Study of Nutrition Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has some interesting answers for those questions.

I have talked to people in the medical field and most have said they could see no reason for him to take those injections.

They added there is a chance that they could be beneficial, but it would be in extreme cases.

I stick with my assumption that he DID take steroids and is now trying to cover it up.

What The Country Needs Is Ronald Reagan

Some of the Republican candidates for President are trying to align themselves with the legacy of Ronald Reagan. They are attempting to portray their platforms as similar to Reagan’s during his eight wonderful years as President.

They want us to believe that they can take our country back to the times of Reagan, where the United States was respected and feared in the same sentence. Back to the times when Reagan stood eye to eye with the Soviet Union; daring them to blink.

I remember the Reagan Presidency. He was like your wise old grandfather, taking about how we could be great again after the four-year debacle know as the Jimmy Carter Administration.

When terrorists blew up a discothèque, frequented by American troops in Berlin, Reagan stated when he found out who was behind it; he would take severe and decisive action against them.

Muammar Quaddafi of Libya was behind the attack. When that fact was found out, Reagan sent planes to bomb Libya. If memory serves me, he attacked one of the known locations of Quaddafi headquarters. Quaddafi was not there, but one of his young sons was. He died in the attack. After that, we heard nothing out of him. Quaddafi did absolutely nothing. Why? Because he knew, Reagan was serious.

When Reagan came up with the idea of building the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), the Soviets shook in their boots. They complained that it would upset the balance of power and would give the USA a first strike weapon.

Reagan responded after the technology was developed, he would share it with them. Its existence would make conventions atomic and nuclear weapons obsolete.

The Soviets were afraid of Reagan. They knew he was serious and would not allow the United States to take a back seat to anyone when it came to being a super power and defending the world against the evils of Communism.

Many chastised Reagan at the time and some to this day hate his memory. They cannot find one good thing to say about him and his administration.

So why it is that the candidates of today want to align themselves with his image? I see it as an attempt to gain support for their Presidential bid. The question I have is “Do they really think people will believe that they can be the kind of President Reagan was?”

Growing up, I remember how my parents revered John F. Kennedy. They though he was the best thing to come around since sliced bread. I, too, was caught up in the Kennedy mystic. I event had a bust relief picture of his in my room.

As I got older, I studied, read and found out how the Kennedy Presidency was not very memorable. It was a group of people who were caught up in this handsome young man and his wife’s run for the White House. It sort of sounds like the Clintons and the Obamas.
I equate Kennedy’s run in 1960 with the Obama run today and the Clinton’s run in 1992, 1996 and today. All talk and no substance. They talk of change without telling anyone what that change is.

The Republicans need a candidate who truly is a pupil of Reagan. The Republicans need a person who emulates the best traits and insights of The Great Communicator. Not only do the Republicans need it, the United States of America need it.

Hotel Montagu Imploded In Houston

This morning, demolition experts imploded the historic Hotel Montagu in downtown Houston.

I wish I could have been there to see it. I have always wanted to be present to see a building imploded in person.

Clinton, Obama Spend Others Money Like It Is Not Theirs!!!

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her camp ate a little higher off the hog than her rival Barack Obama during their week of campaigning in Las Vegas.

Both campaign camps called N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms minutes apart Friday for a food delivery.

Chef Barry Dakake and Jenna Morton, wife of N9NE co-owner Michael Morton, delivered around $200 worth of food, including two Kobe burgers, two organic chicken sandwiches and one order of Dover sole, to Obama in a conference room at the Las Vegas Signature Terminal.

The Clintons' tab came to $1,530 and included entrees of nine steaks, three chicken, three salmon and three Maine scallops, two lobster pappardelle, salads, sashimi, rock shrimp, and various side dishes.

The Clintons, who spent the week in a Bellagio villa, also had a big order delivered from N9NE on Monday.

Do either of these people have ANY finicial responsibility? Obama pays $200 for 2 burgers, 2 chicken sandwiches, and a fish platter, while Hillary pays $1530 for her meal.

After doing some research, I found that N9NE advertises their average price of a meal is $25-$35. That would come out to serve Obama's group six to eight meals. He ordered five entrees. Not very excessive, but a bit above the average person's meal expenditure for a dinner for five people.

As far as Clinton, I count her ordering 20 meals, along with various side dishes.
With the meals averaging $25-$35 dollars, that comes to about $500-$700. But she spent $1530.

I guess it is different when you are spending other people's money. Money that people donated to help you campaign, not to eat "high on the hog."

That is one of the problems I have always had with Democrats. They are more than willing to spend excessive amounts of someone else's money, but never willingto part with their own, no matter how it was earned.

To quote George C. Scott as General George S. Patton in the movie "Patton": "Alright, now you sons-a-bitches. You know how I feel."

McCain, Romney Win; Clinton, Obama Split Spoils

Scars and Marks: Laurean has a tattoo of a skull on one of his upper arms, and a tattoo of a black widow spider, including an hourglass on the spider's abdomen, on the other upper arm.
Remarks: Laurean is a United States citizen. He is also a United States Marine Corps Corporal currently assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

CAUTION

Cesar Armando Laurean is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of 20-year-old Maria Lauterbach, who was pregnant at the time of her murder. Lauterbach was a United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She had been missing since December 14, 2007. The charred remains of Lauterbach and her unborn baby were recovered in a shallow grave in the backyard of Laurean's Jacksonville, North Carolina, residence.

A state arrest warrant was issued on January 12, 2008, in Onslow County, North Carolina, after Laurean was charged with murder. That same day, Laurean was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina, Wilmington, North Carolina, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Cesar Armando Laurean.

Clemens, Ex-teammates Summoned by Congress

The Houston Chronicle has reported that Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitt and Chuck Knoblauch have been asked to give a deposition or interview to congressional investigators in preparation for the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's February 13 hearings on steroid use in baseball.

The GREATEST Movie Car Chase of All Time

I have lately been viewing old movie clips on YouTube. It is amazing what one can find if they just look. All the time people are making list of the "greatest" or"best" something. I LOVE old movies.

So here goes. My first "greatest" post. It is, without a doubt, the greatest movie car chase of all time. If you know movies, you know what I an talking about.

Laurean Headed to Mexico?

Marine Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean, suspected of killing a pregnant comrade, told friends that he would flee to Mexico to avoid being convicted of raping her, and investigators said Wednesday that they are working with Mexican authorities to track him down.

A manhunt for Laurean began last week after authorities said he fled the state and left a note in which he admitted burying the body of Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach, who had accused him of rape. Laurean said in the note that she committed suicide.

What a piece of trash. If he gets to Mexico and they won't extradite him because he might face the death penalty, I say hire some good old boys to go to Mexico and bring him back. But they better be careful. Remember what happened to Duane "Dog" Chapman.

Another thing they could do is offer some illegal immigrants a chance for full American citizenship. If they go home, bring him back in one piece, I would support their receiving citizenship, along with a big, fat reward.
