KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa released this past Thursday the results of The Research 2000 Iowa Poll, which was conducted from Dec. 18-20, 2006
The poll consisted of telephone interviews of 600 likely Iowa voters and has a margin of error of no more than plus or minus 4 percentage points and asked Iowa Democrats which candidates they would vote for if the 2008 Democratic Caucus were held today.
The top four results were as follows:
Sen. John Edwards-22%
U.S. Sen. Barrack Obama-22%
Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack-12%
U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton-10%
If the 2008 Republican Caucus were held today, Iowa Republicans polled gave the following results:
U.S. Sen. John McCain-27%
Republican Rudy Guiliani-26%
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney-9%
Perhaps Hillary doesn't have the support she thinlks she does. Remember, the Iowa Caucus is an early idea of what may happen in the real election.
