I woke up at 4:30am on this Thanksgiving Day of 2007. My mother-in-law, who lives with my wife and I, got up at 5:30am and made her usual cup of coffee. She had the radio on in the kitchen and I could hear it playing softly in the background.
My mother-in-law is an old fashion woman and loves old time country and western music. The song she was listening to was sung by The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings). I am not a fan of old time county music, but I do like this song.
Listen and watch below. It is the official video for the song. I think you will agree with me that this is a great song. It really has a red-blooded American appeal to it.

Great song,
I just wish they would make a US Military version of the tune
A cold winter at Valley Forge..
A Sunday morning in Hawaii
A clear day over Berlin
A frozen Chosin..
But I am still alive
SM: Glad you liked it. You suggestion is great. That would made a nice video.
