Hutchison Meets Campaign Supporters in Austin

United States Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison met with some 300 supporters at a private strategy session Saturday for her 2010 run for Texas governor against incumbent Rick Perry, a fellow Republican who courted anti-abortion activists a few blocks away.

Hutchison stated some of her agenda is to improve Texas’ public and higher education and access to health care. She also wants to ensure that toll roads are built only with local approval, or as new lanes if they are constructed along existing highways.

I do not know how to take this. YES, she is a Republican, but I do not know how just conservative she is. After all, she did vote to kill the border fence bill this past year. I am going to keep my eye on this former cheerleader from LaMarque.

Her ranking by the On The Issues website lists her as a Hard-Core Conservative. In any case, she will be better than current Texas Governor Rick Perry (aka Zoolander).

"We are battling fanatics who kidnap and behead civilians and shoot fleeing children in the back. There can be no dialogue with such people, and the American people understand this.' - Kay Bailey Hutchison

According to several web sites, she strongly favors abortion.

dmarks: Thanks for the information. I did not know that about her. I will file that tidbit away in my files for future use. Thank you for stopping by. I hope to read many more comments from you on my blog and I will check out your blog.

Kris: Thanks for the update. Please keep me posted about any news on KBH.

KBH is one of Michelle Malkin's aptly named "Bend-Over (B.O) Republicans" who are on board with putting us on the road to socialized (rationed) health care. KBH voted in favor of expanding S-CHIP and raising taxes in the process.

Couple that with her pro-abortion leanings, and I believe I will have thoroughly ruined your day.

Sorry *squint* *wince* *shrugs shoulders*

Chanman: I am being very skeptical of her. When Zoolander (Rick Perry) was elected governor of Texas, I had questions about him and said questions came to past. I do not totally trust her. That loss of trust began when she voted to kill the border fence. Many conservatives are RINOs these days. That is why I am being very concerned at what these people say and do.
