I found this tribute to Jim McKay, the longtime face of "ABC's Wide World of Sports" and most widely acclaimed for his tactful yet compassionate reporting of the Israeli hostage crisis at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
He was, without a doubt, the best sportscaster in the history of television. The coverage of the Olympics was never the same after NBC took them over.
