The Shocking Blue: "Venus"

Here is another video I found on YouTube. I loved this song as a youth. It is great to find it in video form and to enjoy it again.

The song is "Venus" as performed by "The Shocking Blue." As always, sit back, enjoy and sing along (if you must). I always do.

Have fun.

A Goddess on a mountain top
Was burning like a silver flame
The summit of Beauty in love
And Venus was her name

She's got it yeah, Baby, she's got it
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire

Her weapon were her crystal eyes
Making every man mad
Black as the dark night she was
Got what no-one else had
Wa!

She's got it yeah, Baby, she's got it
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire

[Aaaahhhhh with instrumental break]

She's got it yeah, Baby, she's got it
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire at your desire

PS: They don't make songs like this any more.

“Venus, a beautiful, good-natured lady, was the goddess of love; Juno, a terrible shrew, the goddess of marriage; and they were always mortal enemies” - Jonathan Swift

I love that song. However, I think Venus is the girl singing the song. She is smoking hot!

My age (and yours) is showing. When I hear that song, I automatically think of the Bananarama version from 1986.

Law and Order Teacher: She was very hot. Her name was Mariska Veres. She did not smoke, drink, or experiment with drugs. When she joined Shocking Blue she made it clear to the other band members that romantic relationships were not going to happen. She died of cancer in 2006.

Chanman: I guess my age is really showing. I didn't even know that Bananarama had remade this song.
