I have been watching old music videos on YouTube lately. I found the original video of Men at Work performing their song "Land Down Under." I have supplies the lyrics below. watch, listen and sing along. Enjoy.
Travelling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said...
"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover"
Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said...
"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover"
Yeah
Lyin' in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?"
And he said...
"Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."
Living in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover
Living in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover
Living in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover
Living in a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover

I haven't heard that song in years. I always loved it. It was a great party song and I always felt like dancing, even though I suck at it. I think that would be a good song to play to motivate the kids. Thanks for the memory.
Ya gotta love a rock song that uses a flute!
I was always a Men at Work fan... for the 15 minutes that they were in the spotlight.
One of my favorites!
I love the flute parts.
I used to play. :)
Law and Order Teacher: It is a great song. Anytime a group uses a flute, they are going to have a hit.
Chanman: I bet there are many One Hit Wonders that are out there. I wonder what they (Men at Work" are doing now.
Angela: In Frank Coachman's band at Ellison High School, right?
