No Beards for HPD Officers = $150,000

Appearance is worth everything - or at least $150,000 - to the Houston police.

City officials say that's how much they're willing to spend to defend against a lawsuit challenging the department's ban on beards.

Four officers filed a federal lawsuit after the department passed the rule, calling it discriminatory against people who develop skin irritation from shaving.
