It is being reported in numerous media sources that a leprosy outbreak is occuring the the town of Springdale, Arkansas.
Leprosy is virtually unheard of any more in the world. The majority of cases reported worldwide occur in the Marshall Islands. Guess where the largest number of Marshallese people, outside the Marshall Islands, resides? The answer is Springdale, Arkansas.
How can a disease that occurs in the third world see an outbreak in the USA? The answer to this question is "Immigration."
I do not care of these infected people came to the USA legally or illegally. This is another reason that the USA needs to place severe restrictions on immigration to this country.
When immigrants went through Ellis Island, they were screened for disease. If it was determined they were infected with any disease, they were quarantined or sent back to their country of origin.
This is another reason to check the health status of everyone entering the USA. This could end up infecting the entire region.
It is time for the USA to stop being the final destination for all the retched refuse of the world. If their own country cannot care for them, do not expect the USA to act as their surrogate.
I would support a law to have all illegal immigrants, when they are arrested, to be tested for disease.
This insanity has to stop. If not, the entire United States is going to look like Tijuana, Mexico, or worse.

I share you feelings. it is out of controll, but the Government will do nothing to stop it. The two or three idoits thats running for the nations highest office this year welcomes the illegal with open arms. every day a too many childern of illegals are being borned in this nation. and we the American tax payers are footing the bill. Why should America accepth the scum of the world
Anonymous: The only reason the three "idoits" that are running for President want to "kiss up" to the criminal aliens is to get their vote (whether legal or illegal). This country will be no better than a third world country in one more generation. Lucky I will not be alive to see it.
Texas: I hope you wrong about us being a third world in less than a generation. However, I can't rightly argue to the contrarily.
This is going to sound pretty cold but I gotta say it: I only wish this would have happened in one of the more liberal cities (LA, Hollywood, San Fran, Etc), because then maybe the doinks would finally start to understand why immigration must be regulated (the whole reap what you sow). Sadly, since this happened in Arkansas, I'll be surprised if it survives its 15min of coverage in the MSM.
I hope we are able to quarantine the outbreak, I would hate to see a whole region decimated by such a disease. Once again, we going to have to clean up their messes.
Esaba[CZ]: There are quite a few diseases bring brought to the USA by immigrants. If the liberals would allow these people in their own neighborhoods, they would see first hand that they do not need to be here. Imagine if Rosie O'Donnell or any of the Hollywood elite had leprosy in their neighborhoods, they would be going crazy!!!
