US Sends Warships to Mediterranean

The U.S. Navy is sending three ships to the eastern Mediterranean Sea in a show of strength during a period of tensions with Syria and political uncertainty in Lebanon.

We need to show these countries that we will not put up with any nonsense from them and theirs.

Thank God for good, old American "Show Of Force." More on this as it develops.

Haven't we been doing shows of force in that part of the world since Jefferson was president? "to the shores of Tripoli"...

Some people are slow learners I guess...

Good call, Vegas. Again I love the sayings. I have always wondered, are these shows of force effective, or do they just burn fuel. I remember one show of force in the Gulf of Tonkin that had some far-reaching consequences. I agree, but please be careful. I got a free trip out of that show of force, I don't want another, unless we are committed to winning.

It depends on what the show of force is supposed to do L&O. If it's to remind people to mind their Ps and Qs because we're paying attention it should be fine. If we really want to project force then make sure the bombs are live...

I agree. If it is to keep people in line, OK. Just don't let it get out of hand. I'm with you on the need to show the flag. Let's hope it does the job.

The Vegas Art Guy: Yes, I guess some people are just slow learners. Perhaps they need to have an ARD and change the modification of their IEP.

Law and Order Teacher: The bombs NEED to be live. Remember how quiet Momar Kadafi was after Reagan bombed Lybia as punishment for the Berlin disco terrorist attack?

Law and Order Teacher: We need to return to the time when the sight of an American flag was a welcome thing for some and put the "Fear of God" in others.
