Romney Drops Out, Now There Is Three

Mitt Romney today suspended his campaign for President of the United States. With his withdrawal, three candidates remain in the hunt for the Republican nomination; John McCain, Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul.

I do not see Huckabee or Paul as being a challenge to McCain. The nomination is effectively his.

That is where my problem lies. I do not view McCain as a true conservative. I feel he is a RINO.

I still do not know what to do. I cannot support McCain with his view on immigration. I will have to study on this a bit more.

He's what I don't understand about McCain and his immigration stance. He's from a state where they are doing wonders about immigration. The recent laws AZ passed and are enacting is causing most illegals to flee to other states. Why is this not his national platform? Is it because it actually works? It would make them flee back south of the boarded because there would be no reason for them to be here.

Also, a moderate REP McCain might be, however, I get scared shit-less and wake up in the middle of the night screaming when I think bout Obama or Hilliary in the white house with a DEM congress. The carnage....liberalism they will inject into the country horrifies me. I don't want to spend the next 4 - 8 years on the defense wondering what they have in store for me next. At least with a moderate rep, I know no national gun control is coming, I know I don't have to worry about socialized health care, or going further down the spiral of the national deficit with the addition of billions of dollars in social programs that they will finance at the militarizes expense. I am not happy with the current state of affairs, I'm not happy with civil liberties being stepped-on but I believe everything of date will pale in comparison to the "Nanny-State" that either of those to will create. Plus, when our enemy (Al Qaeda) wants the dems to win, that says something huge to me. On top of all of the that, we have the courts. Think about if Clinton nominate justices made up the majority of the S.C. court right now with the upcoming DC Gun ban case, that would be catastrophic! And its predicted that during the next presidency 3, (possible 4), S.C. judges are going to stop down, we can't turn out heads to the possibility of taking the entire majority of S.C. court! That would seal the deal for the GOP for at least the next 20 years. (May be a bit exaggerated).

In the end, I will have to swallow allot of my pride and vote for McCain, if for no other reason than the courts. I can't even begin to think what is going to happen if we get more courts like the 9th circuit out in CA.

I agree, I will also have to swallow my pride and vote for McCain. Anything to keep Oprah's Loev Childs or Super Bitch out off the White House. Perhaps if we get a Republican majority in either the House or the Senate, we can keep McCain for selling us down the river for the criminal aliens.

The thing that gets missed with McCain is that he hates pork and ear marks, he's voted for every conservative judge that has come up since he's been in the senate, and with foreign policy he rocks. I read his essay at http://www.foreignaffairs.org/
and it was excellent, far better than either Obama or Billary who also wrote essays there as well.

The Vegas Art Guy: The problem I have with McCain is his stance on immigration and his close alliance with certain Democrats. Those things raise questions in my mind.

As long as he is serious about securing the border like he says he is, then I can live with it. We are going to have to do something with everyone who is here but securing the border is first. And remember the constitution is a compromise, so his ability to reach across the aisle may come in handy if he gets elected and has to replace a Supreme Court Justice or three...

The Vegas Art Guy: I agree about the border issue. If he could reach across all lines, like Reagan, that would be great. I just don't know about his Supreme Court nominations. Things are going to be interesting.
